What are the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible, writers must identify as part of an underrepresented group, including but not limited to writers of color, female-identifying writers, LGBTQ+ writers, disabled writers, and those over 50. All submissions must be original works.
How do I submit my application?
Applications can be submitted through our online portal. Ensure that you fill out all required fields and upload your screenplay in the specified format. The submission window opens on January 1st and closes on March 31st each year.
What types of stories are accepted?
We accept all genres of screenplays, including drama, comedy, and documentary. Your story should reflect diverse perspectives and experiences.
Is there an entry fee?
Yes, there is a nominal entry fee to help cover administrative costs. However, we offer fee waivers for applicants who demonstrate financial need.
When will the winners be announced?
Winners will be announced during our annual awards ceremony, which takes place in late June. All applicants will be notified via email about the results. We encourage everyone to attend and celebrate the diverse voices in screenwriting.
